Your Body and Your Trip

January 15th, 2012

You’ve prepared your home for your impending international trip, you’ve told the neighbors you’ll be gone and got a ADT Home Security System for the housebut what about your body? Here are a few tips for adjusting to a trip:
Get the right shots: Depending on where you’re going, you may need some innoculations. Talk to a doctor about which shots you should get preventatively as well as which medications you should take with you just in case.
Start your new sleep schedule: Jet lag is a killer so try to adjust before the trip. Stay up as late as possible the night before you leave so you’ll sleep on the plane and when you get off whatever you do, resist the urge to take a nap. Water and lots of caffeine can help.
Get Walking: You know it’s a bad idea to wear new shoes on a walking trip but what about new legs? If your body’s not used to continuous exercise a vacation can wear you out – you don’t want to return more tired than you left! Begin a regimen before you leave to help prepare yourself.
