Try to keep your handbags and fanny packs to a minimum. If possible attempt to put your money in a pouch or money belt under your clothing. It comes off less revealing and less obvious to potential thieves.

To avoid being hassled by customs, packed medicines should always stay closed in the right containers. Make sure to bring along any prescription forms confirming that the medicines are what they say they are. Bring along travelers checks instead of money, they are easier to handle and plus if you lose them, you can always get them back. Make sure to have a couple of major credit cards on you for emergency purposes. And never bring things that you would hate to lose!

Last but most importantly, make sure that you own travelers insurance. Accidents happen so being prepared for those accidents are very important. Having travelers insurance will allow you to be treated for an injury or get medical services where needed.
